Marked: The Doctrine of Circumcision

God called Moses [to deliver the people of Isreal],
Later, we see that God wanted to kill Moses, why would God want to do that?
We see the reason in Exodus 4:24–26. Moses wasn't  abiding with God's law of being "Marked" (circumcised) detailed explanation here. - https://www.gotquestions.org/kill-Moses.html

Today's sermon was quite expository and there's quite lot to understand and we should be open to learning. God's priority for the unsaved, is Salvation, but as a believer, God's priority for us is to grow in knowledge of Him, so we can worship better.

Today's sermon on the Doctrine of circumcision help us further establish that the entire bible, just like a movie is related and connected. We could see several events and situations that reflect on or suggest things to come.
Safe to say everything about the bible points to Christ and His salvation work.

Much of the old testament are actually symbols of Jesus and his work of salvation.. but this isn't so obvious.

The Practice of Circumcision (which is still very much in practice today) is one example. The process offer medical benefits and protection. It's a picture of Salvation and the Spiritual Circumcision Jesus brokered on our behalf.

 it serves the purpose of:

- Identification
- Protection
- Promise

(The Passover and the circumcision have more in common than we can imagine.)

MARKED

All of that is to establish that we are MARKED, we are a God Brand. We are different. We are a peculiar people. We have eternal security. As believers, we are different and that's going to make all the difference in the end.
(Makes sense why Moses was going to be judged when God tried to get rid of Him. He had no protection from circumcision until his wife performed the circumcision quickly).

Recall David when he confronted Goliath. He words were - "who is this uncircumcised philistine..."
He saw a man without protection and that gave him reason to boast.

We've Been Circumcised Through Christ by Faith - Col 2v11-13  (Powerful)

This circumcision we have by Faith should cause us to have a boast in Christ. Phil 3v3
There is something on us that separates us from the pack. It might not be obvious to the normal eyes.
We are branded, we have the seal of the Spirit and the Circumcision gives us power benefits.
Now we see how significant an ordinance that started in Gen 17v 9-12 reveals God's plan for salvation.

Jesus has given us a circumcision by Faith through his death. This suggest to you that Jesus was not an after thought, He was the plan all along. John 1v1
( There are other types and shadows or symbols concealed in this amazing book called the bible, can't wait to learn more)

Now it takes a great deal of study to unpack this, the way it was. So grateful for my Church and Pastor.
